Day 20.
This morning I considered the experiences of the fish friends we rarely see after a few bubbled near the surface (perhaps after the goose food...)

Day 19 at #Exeter quay.
Another blue to grey gradient, which was enhanced by an impromptu visit from a friend.

Day 18 at #Exeter quay.
Cold, wet and slightly windy this morning. I thought about the quay and the workers that loaded the wool onto ships, how I was sitting in the shadows of industry.

Also, this extremely fluffy magical cat appeared.
17.02.2026 09:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Day 17 with some amazing colours this morning at #Exeter Quay.
Wild eggshell, forgotten mauve with shadows of strawberry.

Definitely! One of my favourite spots in Exeter. Also lots of birds in the morning and bats in the evening.
16.02.2026 09:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Day 16 at #Exeter quay.
Lovely clouds this morning and only a little rain. I enjoyed the colours of pastel ochre and pallid ice blue.

Here are the fowl in question. Sorry for the covert looking photo, trying to hold an umbrella at the same time.
15.02.2026 08:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Day 15: cold, rainy and blue.
The highlight was the two Canada geese that flew overhead in the darkness, making an absolute racket. Haven't seen them in #Exeter for a while.
Midway through the month and finally I captured some colour!

Day 13.
Good morning #Exeter.
Had some cosmic thoughts this morning watching a thin moon drift across the sky. Very happy to be umbrella free!
Lovely lagoon blues. I've been seeing colours like that during our this month's rainy 'sunrises'.

A blank sky this morning; ready for you to be whoever you need to be.

Day 11.
Finally some warm oranges at #Exeter quay precisely at sunrise 7:35, hopefully I get some more by the end of the month.
The geese were joined (well, scared off) by a couple of swans who I'm sure I'll see again.
I reported the dog fouling and anti-social behaviour to @exetercouncil.bsky.social, so hopefully something will be looked at (I know there is a CCTV camera looking directly at that spot), because I'm struggling to understand why someone would do what they did. [2/2]
10.02.2026 09:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Day 10.
Lovely mist this morning at #Exeter quay. Unfortunately spoiled because someone had put dog faeces on the cleat (the metal think you tie boats to) that I've been sitting on. Luckily I was sitting on a mat, but it was horrible. [1/2]
The geese. I'm not sure yet, but I think the left one is a Charlie and the right is Florence.
09.02.2026 11:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Day 9.
This mornings sunrise was dry and uneventful. I had some random writing ideas for a damp water based scene (I wonder where I got that idea from...) and finally fed the geese that have been pestering me (I bought some geese/duck/swan food).
Big Mac and fries?

Some more deep blues during this quiet Sunday sunrise at #Exeter quay.
Gandy Street in Exeter maybe? www.solosophie.com/gandy-street...
07.02.2026 11:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Day 7!
Lovely clouds at #Exeter quay this morning; they moved at the pace of hurried rhinos.
Reflecting on a week of early mornings: it was difficult at first, but my sleep has adjusted and I feel more connected to the rhythm of nature.
Sunrise Day 6:
This morning at #Exeter quay had the best blues so far. Just as the sun was rising, the moon found space between the clouds and added another shade, creating a pool of dark lagoon blue.
Day 5!
#Exeter quay is wet today (and not just in the river).
Unfortunately my camera is not in anyway waterproof, so I had to sit huddled under two umbrellas to capture another February sunrise.
Hello #Exeter
The sky was visible (kinda)! This morning I pondered on how much of our country is automated and how it's easy to take it for granted. Our streetlights are bright and switch off when the day comes.
Dreary one this morning! #exeter
A droplet decided to grace my lens for a little bit of refractive magic. Also a dog yeeted itself into the water but managed to get out okay.
The English parliament failed first time round to support our Swifts, but, as usual the Scottish one showed the right way forward.
Let's stick it to the nature- phobic Labour Party and get this petition heavily supported.

Thank you! About 10 minutes. I take a shot every 5 and then pick the best of the lot.

Today's sunrise was less misty, less blue, but more goose.
I'll have to bring some food for the geese, because I think they'll become a regular visitor.

Today's sunrise; a diffused blue sky settling into soft steel mizzle.
