New report confirms local government crisis is growing The Institute for Governmentโ€™ annual review of the state of local government, published last week, paints an alarming picture

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?

The UK privatised all their Fossil Fuel, Power Plants and Electricity transmission.

Norway still owns all of theirs.

The price in the UK for 1 Kwh is 26.5p.

Norway reduce their cost to 3p on Oct 1st.

9x cheaper, the ripoff is insane.

Tommy Robinson tapping into disquiet in country, says minister Business Secretary Peter Kyle says Robinson has been able to tap into a years-long sense of grievance in the country.

This is so overwhelmingly the wrong message it's untrue.

1) Says to people with genuine concerns that the way to express them is like this
2) Legitimises a minority of thugs led by a convicted hooligan
3) Implies the country is more broken than it is

Reform UK, which has a grand total of four MPs, was just given an uninterrupted platform for an hour and a half on the BBC and Sky News channels, in order to talk about its plans for mass deportations

When was the last time the Greens (with four MPs) or the Lib Dems (with 72) were given the same?

Loove the new parking protected bike lane on Main st in cambridge between Kendall and Central sq.

Much better than the dangerous door zone lane they had before.

Really feels like a missing piece of the puzzle has been filled in!

Great job Cambridge! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Now 26 hours since we had a water supply here in Linslade, with optimistic successive 6-hour deadlines for fixing it raising our hopes. Though last time they eventually stopped doing that and admitted it'd be several days before we had water again. Currently waiting for a lampost to be moved. Sigh

I wish there was some fancy economic term for when a person deliberately lowers the price of every single stock on the planet before then raising them all with a wave of their hand, in a manner you might say would grant immediate, near-infinite wealth to anyone informed of such plans beforehand.

Re the replica iron age roundhouse, check out 'Living in the Past', an early stab at reality TV where a group of people constructed an iron age village and lived in it for a year. Beeb, I think, about 1977 or 8.
