My advanced class wanted to go over throwing with larger pieces of clay (8+ lbs) so I showed them the ropes. This was my demo. Approximately 14 inches at time of throwing.

Another little test bowl from the most recent firing. Turned out a bit more subtle than intended, but I’m not mad at it.

Ceramic Phylactery (Floral Variant)
A broad-shouldered and solemn, tapers to a throat as narrow as a spell’s final syllable. Featuring a necromantic green that glows like swamp-light, deepening to black at rim and base—as if the bottle is slowly sinking into its own shadow.

Sharing a progress picture on my new performance mask. This is just the substructure so far. The jaw is attached with a hing to move while I speak. I’ll be starting the sculpt which will be made using epoxy clay. A goal has been to build in a way that will allow for upgrading as I progress.

Another of my 3-d environments in progress for my upcoming D&D game. This is the “ lantern market”, a place to barter and source of quests. I need to finish populating the space with objects then light it with its namesake an abundance of colorful lanterns.

New glaze tests on bottles. As there are so many variables when it comes to glazing ( things like location within the kiln, and the height, shape, and texture of a piece can all effect how glazes behave) it’s important to try them out on a variety of shapes.

3 hand drawn, blue porcelain tiles hang from a poplar branch.
