I fear it needs to be more academic!

β€˜Throw shade’ is gen-z too, no?!

I am now so fluent in Gen-Z (thanks, Offspring), that I am struggling to think in Gen-X – and, as I obviously can't include the expression "to chat shit about…" in an academic essay, can someone please remind me how to say this in my own language. Thanks. #sociolinguistics

The front cover of β€œInto the Tangled Bank” with the title centred in white sans serif font. The subtitle (in smaller white italics) reads β€œIn which the author ventures outdoors to consider the British in nature.”
The background is of a roughly painted undergrowth, mostly greens, but featuring various wildflowers (including pink foxglove bottom right, pink campion maybe, top left), a small tortoiseshell butterfly (orange, top centre), and a song thrush (very bottom right).

Into the Tangled Bank by Lev Parikian. Interesting, educational, accessible, and very funny. #nature

My 1949 Penguin paperback edition of Wuthering Heights.

The pages have not yellowed, the sewn binding is still tight.

The prevalence of non-acid-free paper and glued bindings means I have hardbacks published less than ten years ago that have aged less well.

It’s taken from underneath – wings and tail streamers spread. Blue sky with fluffy white clouds behind. CUNTING TRAINS i’m fine.

Instead of ranting about how literally all my trains to and from the rehearsal this evening were cancelled I’ll calmly give you this photo of a swallow I’m fine everything’s fine

I am angry @NHSE_WTE have always been clear: people with a learning disability & autistic individuals delivering Oliver’s Training should be paid Band 5 rates
Yet many charities with contracts to deliver it are paying minimum wage

A silouhette of the common, looking into the sun (centre right). There’s a tree in the middle and scrubby bushes and more trees off to the right. A faint hint of the path leads from bottom right to centre right, but it’s hard to see in the shadow. the sky above is blue.

I have devised a neologism: β€œirritager”. A young person who is no longer a teenager, but is still fucking annoying.

Orange square in which is written, on the left (in white rounded sans-serif writing), β€œI’m on a 2000 day learning streak!” Under that, in the same typeface, but lighter orange, it says β€œDuolingo”. On the right is the yellow, orange, and white Duolingo cartoon owl, with its wings spread in celebration.
