This is TRULY awful, what the fuck. It'll shrink the space for organizing, journalism, and dissent as a whole!
Also, what's with the "I'm a dad." NO ONE CARES IF YOU'RE A DAD. Does having children make you stupid? I stg, every censorship wave uses children to launder bullshit.

Photo shows the "Relationships" shelf in Housmans Bookshop, which, amongst other books, has 4 copies of Madeline Lane-McKinley's Solidarity with Children. The book was published in 2025 by Haymarket Books.
Sunday afternoon browsing in @housmansbookshop.bsky.social
So good to see copies of @lalouverouge.bsky.social's Solidarity with Children available on the shelves π One of the best and most transformative reads of my 2025 - I encourage everyone to read it.

Credit to @immalkwalahi. Stills from the original Silent Hill 2 are compiled with alternative captions. The stills are from the scene where James meets Angela in the graveyard. The captions show Return to Silent Hill's Rotten Tomatoes score and Silent Hill Fans' reaction of "It's just... I guess I really don't care if it's terrible or not."
Honestly, this ππ½ Return to Silent Hill is v flawed, but it's also not deserving of vitriol. The impeccable games still stand, and I dug what this film tries to do with the lore of the town.
The Silent Hill games mean a whole lot to me, and it'll always be a joy to see that world on the big screen.

two-thirds of the way in, and this book is shaping up to be one of the best horror novels of the 2020s. i can feel an article about it cooking up at the back of my brain as i read - about the writing of pandemics, precarity, grief, and solidarity.

SCOOP: Candace Owens is launching a new media platform including paywalled content, a book club and fitness app, which will provide women with β80βs-style at home workout videos. I wrote about her quest to target millennial and Gen Z women, especially young mothers.

Photo of the cover of Goblinhood - with the title written in green and the author's name written in red. The book is being held on top of a yellow blanket, being held by the reader while cosy underneath the blanket.
"Choosing what to read, by the way, doesn't have to be an intellectual conundrum or canonical or chronological, it can be elemental." - one of my favourite quotes from @jencalleja.bsky.social's small but mighty Goblinhood π

Special time seeing three of Matthew Hopper's short films, including the premiere of Elephant w/ @aliwoods.bsky.social, earlier today π Each one had a valuable perspective on masculinity - thinking about how men relate to one another, and asking how they can express their vulnerabilities.
