i just played through a short sidequest chain in xianzhou that had some nice characterization about a blind woman, leading into revealing her to be the evil leader of the evil immortality cult. so she starts talking like a cartoon villain and they clumsily kill her off in the story immediately after

all of the writing feels so alike in structure that i cant help but look at characters the same way i do in ffxiv and have to fight the urge to analyze their writing Like That so i dont make hasty judgments gghhh i must fight my inner cynic im cooked
