Thank you for sharing this. I can relate. My mom suffered from vascular dementia; needed more and more (expensive) home care; 5 months in dementia care, with 6 trips to the ED for falls, one was a hip fracture, then nursing home for 7 months before dying in 2023. Sadness, relief, guilt. Still.
