What are we asking for?
Investing in industrial hemp infrastructure. Help with creating the genetics, advice on planting techniques, adapting harvesting equipment, incentivizing investing in processing facilities that create non-toxic waste by-products for hemp products, like hempcrete.

What are we asking for?
An agricultural policy that guarantees commodity prices for farmers such that they can make a decent living on a reasonable number of acres. As the quantity that the farmer sells increases, the price decreases, until a point at which there is no incentive to produce.

What are we asking for? Breaking up monopolies/oligopolies and setting such strict rules on private equity, that they either serve society or cease to exist.

Free daycare and pre-K that is nurturing of the whole child: their emotions, their imagination - where they aren't forced into boxes and tested and forced to learn skill-sets, but instead are read to, allowed to play, to paint, to sing, and are taught how to be a good friend.

What are we asking for? Paid family leave

What are we asking for? universal health care, paid for by taxing wealth, schools where teachers are respected, well paid, and expected to use their passions and experience to inspire children/young adults to learn about the world, not be slaves to standardized tests. Limit campaign contributions.

For those who can't remember before Trump and Reagan, "The government" is actually the counterweight to oligarchs. The military is supposed to protect our democracy from other countries. The many many civil servants that form the government make that democracy possible; they are democracy in action.

Democrats should:
Calling a genocide a genocide, acknowledge the state of Palestine, cut off all aid to Israel until it pays for reparations, rebuilds Gaza on Gazan terms and gives back all of the illegally taken land in the West Bank, including replanting the trees burned by Israeli settlers.

I just found out that James Talarico, who I thought was principled and was part of the future of the Democratic party, is being bankrolled by the equivalent of AIPAC, Miriam Adelson.

Any Democrat who is unwilling to call what Israel is doing a genocide should not deride MAGA as being brainwashed.

Democrats should stand for:
*Universal Health care, including long term care, for every person without charge.
*Tax Wealth
* Universal free childcare, medical leave, free college
* Universal year of service post high school
* Break up monopolies and control private equity
* Get money out of politics

What is the context in which that phrase is supposedly being used? Is the emphasis on the verb, or is it a phrase meant to refer to a group of people?

Just had an idea, in reaction to the deployment of the military to DC: hold vigils in towns across USA, like those for the disappeared in, say, Chile, only here it's people coming up to the podium to say parts of democracy that are being disappeared and normalized.

Seems helpful to understand why pple support this authoritarianism. I have been a little flummoxed by the disjunct between the attacks on Trans pple, Immigrants, etc. and any real harm that anyone from these groups pose to the pple attacking them. Found this helpful:

Those who are throwing Zohran Mamdani under the bus are revealing who they really are. I don't want to hear any of them complain about the Democratic party not resonating with young people. In fact, I don't want to hear any of them say anything.

When I hear Democrats saying there shouldn't be any purity tests, I hear: I don't want to alienate private equity, Silicon Valley tech bros, and AIPAC, etc.
