What it is, why to do it, how to do it, with links to take action. Logically structured and informative; it's a great information & call to action website. They've done a really good job :-)
If they wanted to expand it, something on worms would be ace, but it's brilliant as it is

I know nothing about Byzantine social and domestic hierarchies... but couldn't help thinking, "y'know, that's a good question; factotum, steward, castellan, what was the right term?" have now fallen down a very deep rabbithole and find myself subscribed to Jstor again... π

32 years ago, I lost 3 months of design and technology A level coursework, when one of the upper-sixth pupils knocked over a cup of aluminium powder from a wind-tunnel project, and it landed on my section of the workbench and got scattered onto my little box of discs... i'm still bitter π

Black and white photo. The skeletonised seed pod from a dried poppy. It is sitting on a shallow, naturally formed sandstone bowl. Behind it is a piece of green glass, the only colour in the photo. Under it is a skeleton's dried ginger leaf. On the table surface around it are three dried orchid flowers
Black and white version of the seed pod - and green glass for a tiny bit of colour (though it's a bit difficult to see on the small screen)

βGrand Theft Hamletβ Review: Thereβs Something Rousing in the State of San Andreas
A new documentary transforms the ultraviolent world of βGTA Onlineβ into an absurd and profound Shakespearean stage.
The new documentary GRAND THEFT HAMLET is about out-of-work actors staging a Shakespeare production in the middle of Grand Theft Auto Online.
It's the only version of the play where the "to be or not to be speech" is repeatedly interrupted by strangers murdering Hamlet.
I loved it.
My review.

Absolutely- my autistic spectrum son experiences spikes of excruciating empathy, such that he can't comfortably watch "cringe" comedy - even things like The Office have him leaving the room. My autistic spectrum partner has been moved to tears by news reports, movies, and music.

Father Emmerich sighs and returns to the weinachtspyramide he has set on the orphanage dormitory landing, whispering a prayer as he resets the pitch of the wooden fan blades; returning the carousel to a clockwise rotation and undoing the petty blasphemy of restless spirits. @hookland.bsky.social

A red and gold sunset, with silhouetted trees, reflected in a large pond on the edge of a woodland.
Even in winter, the children play by the pond at the edge of the woods; throwing stones to watch the ripples, floating cans as targets, but when the sunset turns the water blood red, they leave. They can hear the whispering in the reeds; unwanted playmates, cold as the grave. @hookland.bsky.social

The Matrix - Morpheus interrogation by agent Smith
I'm genuinely looking forward to reading her thesis. Anyone who watched The Matrix, where Agent Smith talks about smell and his face displays visceral disgust, has to appreciate that scent/smell in a narrative is a huge area of characterisation and ideological significance youtu.be/O8qJauiEVWY
