32 years ago, I lost 3 months of design and technology A level coursework, when one of the upper-sixth pupils knocked over a cup of aluminium powder from a wind-tunnel project, and it landed on my section of the workbench and got scattered onto my little box of discs... i'm still bitter 😁

3 days of my brothers and I typing out BASIC on a Sinclair Spectrum, copied line by line from a games magazine, unable to save it to tape until we'd finished, and my mum unplugged the computer to do the hoovering... still traumatised 😆

I have to confess to using "murine micturations" into a scene where a cat is exploring a kitchen cupboard in an old man's house 😆 ... the comments section on this post has me feeling very, very guilty 😅

I am soooo guilty of this. My undergraduate portfolio was practically a case study in shoe-horning archaic and obscure words and terms into inappropriate contexts 😁

Cracked windshield on the car, so took it through to Autoglass in Cardington for replacing... cue a wander round the lake in Priory Country Park in the rain.

The new documentary GRAND THEFT HAMLET is about out-of-work actors staging a Shakespeare production in the middle of Grand Theft Auto Online.

It's the only version of the play where the "to be or not to be speech" is repeatedly interrupted by strangers murdering Hamlet.

I loved it.

Absolutely- my autistic spectrum son experiences spikes of excruciating empathy, such that he can't comfortably watch "cringe" comedy - even things like The Office have him leaving the room. My autistic spectrum partner has been moved to tears by news reports, movies, and music.

There is something so very Hookland about these little candle driven carousels 😁

Even in winter, the children play by the pond at the edge of the woods; throwing stones to watch the ripples, floating cans as targets, but when the sunset turns the water blood red, they leave. They can hear the whispering in the reeds; unwanted playmates, cold as the grave. @hookland.bsky.social
