Maybe, but that would make it a conspiracy - a conspiracy is complicated and requires intelligent planning.

Doesn’t really seem like the UK government.

More likely they are just incompetent cretins.

Indeed, the goal is laudable but the UK gov's tech solution is tragically misguided. The Covid NHS-X [cr]app all over again. Apple & google bailed them out then & I hear apple are launching a similar distributed age solution. However this looks like a global breach and not related to UK regulation?

The Tories are heading towards extinction because once you've fed voters with enough far-right poison, they vote for the real fascists, not your pale copy. They vote for the leaders, not the Tory followers scrabbling along after them.

You defeat fascism by fighting it, relentlessly, tooth and nail.

The government, press and about 33% of the public are dancing to Farage's Pied Piper. Like rats willingly throwing themselves over a cliff - for a second time!!!
Will we ever learn?

I sometimes worry I exaggerate the collective madness of our media but the people who cheered Brexit, Boris Johnson & Liz Truss's mini-budget are now applauding Kemi Badenoch's speech. 'Parallell universe' doesn't come close. I suppose her not falling over is a win of sorts for them at the moment.

Well said Tarzan! When will the Tory party admit it was a mistake and move on. If they do not they will surely be committed to history. Kemi has a difficult job but she must do what is best for the party and country and - own it.

Garry Kasparov: Why I’m Launching The Next Move The enemies of freedom have a plan. It’s time we made one too.

Wow, just wow. What a brilliant & well formed strategy to dig us out of our respective rabbit holes into a single tunnel towards the light.
It's not enough to be appalled by Farage/Trump fascism or labour/dem woke-ism. We must hold both perspectives in our head at the same time. Go Garry.

J. Collins coined the phrase "Hubris of success" to describe the first stage of corp. decline. Experience creates a similar decline in people. Experience is a disadvantage if the world has changed.
Relevant experience with humility, has a brighter future.

Indeed let's hope so, the more people say Boris Boats and Farage Ferries the more people might actually look into what happened. Labour & Lib dems seem to have woken up to it, but the real shift will be when the conservatives start saying it. Most reform voters were previously Tory after all.
