After 8 years (exactly, since Permabit was acquired) I have finally requested a company laptop... because I can't reliably have a Google Meet with more than 2 people on my older BYOD Mac. Everything else with it is fine. (I would like to run more VMs locally, though, and run some ML inference.)

I get it; it’s a permanent structure so it has to meet permanent structure code. But there’s no excuse for not dropping temp portapotties until we can jump through the hoops.
