That's a very good point indeed! Yes, I think many people (unfortunately) feel lame or awkward when changing their natural/native way of pronouncing things 😟

I like talking about languages, books, history, culture, politics and whatever crosses my mind.

Did you take lessons with a teacher/tutor or did you learn by yourself?
Hey #langtwt #langsky! In your opinion, what majes some people particularly good with pronunciation in foreign languages?
09.08.2025 07:25 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 4 📌 0A bit like Catalan and Valencian, I guess
05.08.2025 06:26 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Do Serbians and Croatians claim to speak different languages?
04.08.2025 16:26 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0The bottom line is that the more languages you know, the easier it is to learn new ones, even if they are seemingly unrelated. #langtwt #langsky
04.08.2025 13:09 — 👍 2 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0Are Korean and Turkish related? No that I know of, apart from both being agglutinative languages. Turkish has vowel harmony, Korean doesn't. And yet, I can find a similarity in consonant change rules between both languages. 😁
04.08.2025 13:08 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Some years ago, I tried to learn Korean but gave up very quickly. Pronunciation and spelling made no sense to me and I couldn't retain vocabulary. Now, after learning Turkish, something has clicked, and Korean pronunciation rules seem slightly more logical.
04.08.2025 13:04 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Exactly! Even if Urdu has a heavier influence from Persian, people claiming they are two separate languages has more to do with politics and religion than with actual linguistic differences
27.07.2025 06:11 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Probably my hottest take related to languages is that Hindi and Urdu are dialects of one and the same language, and I will die on that hill. #langtwt #langsky

If so, what languages/topics do you like to listen about?
HI: 'crazy in love' and 'someone who shares your pain'. Both super poetic 🥰
TR: it just means 'goodbye', but in a more literal sense it means 'keep smiling'
IT: 'brushed', I just think it sounds funny
FA: same as in Hindi (actually, it seems the word हमदर्द/همدرد is originally Persian) 😀
EN: 'so beautiful that it takes away your breath', so poetic
CA: 'caress', I think both the meaning and the sound are so sweet
ES: it's a fancy way on saying 'stupid, I just think it's funny
RU: 'destined' or 'meant to be', very representative of the Russian culture
👇
EN: breathtaking
CA: moixaina
ES: mentecato
RU: суждено
HI: दीवाना, हमदर्द
TR: güle güle
IT: spazzolato
FA: I don't know the language well enough, but I'd say همدرد (hamdard), same as in Hindi!
Wow, that's so many languages!
Adding the #langsky hashtag to spread it through the community 😊
That's so cool! 😊 I feel these two are such underrated languages, especially Hindi!
