Verifiable truth about my grandfather from a primary source: a priest who knew everyone because he spoke several dialects of our language & who was wounded at Wounded Knee.
This is in his journal.

I have tried to check in each day but the past week was exceptionally busy as I prepared, with others, for a meeting yesterday of Wounded Knee descendants of Survivors. It was a good meeting that @museek.bsky.social and I both attended. We spoke about a proper memorial & what to do with artifacts.

There are many Artifacts out there said to have belonged to my grandfathers. This is one, example. We were not Blackfoot. My grandpa was Minneconjou Lakota. I don't believe I have ever seen a photo of him in such a headdress. Only wearing single feathers. americanindian.si.edu/collections-...
