I’m excited to resume writing in a handful of weeks. The kids-on-bikes book will be my top priority, but I’m percolating scenes for the near-future dystopia book, and finding inspiration for the two short story collections set in its universe.

I grew up watching TNG and Reading Rainbow both, so that episode blew my 6 year old mind. Core memory.

Like every other aspect of consumer technology, autocorrect has become unusable and actively useless in the era of the LLM.

New York state has many problems, but it’s edifying to hear the gruff, older white man at the oil change place opine in his ten-pack-a-day voice that this was supposed to be a good country, with freedom for all of us, instead of what we got, and that all the companies are screwing us over.

the cool thing is, huge corporations have invested billions into AI, hoping it will pay off. so, if we manage to bully AI out of most spaces, those corporations will also lose billions of dollars. it's the best two-for-one special i can think of.

Sad about my teenager going back to his other parent in less than three weeks, but also excited to get back to writing. I feel energized to continue my kids-on-bikes novel in a way I haven’t felt since early June.

William Buckland’s 1824 paper, “Notice on the Megalosaurus or great Fossil Lizard of Stonesfield,” would also be an excellent title for a Regency-set weird fic about a dinosaur loose on the English countryside.
