Fighting for workers' rights and an economy that works for everyone.
Sending love and solidarity to @32bjseiu.bsky.social as they mourn the loss of union member Aland Etienne.
30.07.2025 17:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Weβre grateful to @delia.bsky.social for continuing to honor the legacy of Rev. Dr. Calvin Morris. He was a mentor, friend, and comrade to many of us in the JWJ Network. He embodied the JWJ way and committed a lifetime to showing up in solidarity with working people.
24.07.2025 18:37 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Trumpβs executive order stripping bargaining rights from federal workers was union-bustingβbut we have the bill AND the votes to fix it. We urge every member of Congress to sign the discharge petition to get the Protect Americaβs Workforce Act to a vote. aflcio.org/press/releas...
17.07.2025 13:38 β π 108 π 52 π¬ 2 π 2π΄ LIVE: Erica Smiley of @jwj.org gets a question on how unions can maintain power with the NLRA and NLRB under attack.
βWorker power is not based in the National Labor Relations Act. The NLRA is based in worker power.
They canβt take that power away, because they didnβt give it to us.β
Excited to be moderating a panel at this event on Thurs., July 17 on "Creating an Economy that Empowers Working People" with Erica Smiley of @jwj.org and @faiz.bsky.social of @moreperfectunion.bsky.social

09.07.2025 17:02 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Top center of the image the white text reads: Sign the petition and stand with pregrant Amazon workers." In a smaller white font below that, the text reads: If you're a current or former Amazon worker who has been injured on the job, share your story at exposeamazon.org! An orange button/banner with purple font reads ADD YOUR NAME. The image is a drawing of two women. The woman on the left is holding a baby on her hip, wearing an amazon vest and holding a sign that says RESPET. The woman to the left is holding her pregnant belly, wearing an Amazon vest, and holding a sign that says SAFETY.
π’ Repost to demand Amazon stop the abuse.

A drawing of a pregnant woman wearing an amazon vest and holding her back is in the bottom right corner. The woman is looking up in pain. The text reads: "I was 6 months pregnant. I felt like I was about to pass out, so I asked for a fan at my station. The manager told me 'No accommodation? No fan.' But Amazon had been ignoring my accommodation request. - Serina, NY"
A drawing of an ambulance is in the bottom right hand corner. It's stylized to look like property of Amazon. The Amazon logo is on the side of the ambulance, with the logo purposefully turned upside down. The text reads: "My doctor said I needed accomodations to stay safe during my high-risk pregnancy. Amazon refused. Ultimately, I left my warehouse in an ambulance. Then, Amazon fired me. - Jennifer, NY"
Amazon boxes and packages are scattered throughout the background of this image. Light blue boxes over a darker blue. The text reads: "These actions are illegal under the federal Pregnant Workers Fairness Act. Amazon must pass and enforce a policy that complies with federal law."
These are not isolated incidents. Amazon routinely violates the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act by denying basic accommodations, like sitting down or avoiding heavy lifting. Most pregnant AMZ workers who shared their stories with us were illegally fired or made the hard decision to quit to stay safe
08.07.2025 14:10 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0A headshot of Edith Cooper is in the bottom right of the image, surrounded by a sketchy, white circle. Edith is wearing a pink necklace, and her hair rests above her shoulder. The text reads: "Amazon: Meet with workers! We're calling on Edith Cooper, chair of the Amazon Board Committee responsible for warehouse working conditions to meet with the injured pregnant workers she has been ignoring for close to a year."
Now, these brave workers are demanding a meeting with Amazon board member, Edith Cooper. They want justice for pregnant workers. And they need our support.
08.07.2025 14:10 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0This image is mostly a text graphic with a drawing of woman in the bottom right corner. The woman has pink hair and is wearing glasses and an Amazon vest. The text reads: 150+ pregnant workers have come forward to #ExposeAmazon. Pregnant Amazon workers are being forced to work at a breakneck pace, lifting 50 lb. packages, and climbing tall ladders - all with big, baby bumps. The impact? Hospital visits, illegal terminations, and even miscarriages."
π¨ 150+ pregnant Amazon workers have come forward to share their stories with @Warehouse_Life. Their stories are devastating:
β Miscarriages
β Hospital visits
β Illegal firings
Top, from left to right, there are portraits of actors Sally Field, Chelsea Handler, Cynthia Nixon, Jane Fonda, Rosario Dawson, Lily Tomlin, and Pamela Adlon. Underneath their portraits, arched purple text reads: 7 Hollywood Actors Signed On on top of an arched orange banner. The main text says "Tell Amazon: STOP hurting pregnant workers." in a white font. The text "send the letter!" sits on top of an orange banner/button. A pregnant woman holding her back and wearing an amazon vest is placed in the background to the right.
While Amazon floods your feed with Prime Day ads, theyβre also hurting pregnant workers.

Since the Dobbs ruling, abortion access has been gutted across the countryβhitting workers and families hardest.
Nowβs the time for unions to organize, fight back, and bargain for abortion protections.

AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler issued the following statement in response to a ruling in American Federation of Government Employees v. Donald Trump, which challenged the March 27 executive order stripping nearly 1 million federal workers of their right to collectively bargain under the guise of βnational securityβ: βIn March, President Trump committed the single biggest act of union-busting in history, stripping nearly 1 million federal workers of their right to collectively bargain and have a voice on the job. On Tuesday, a U.S. District Court restored those workersβ voices and their fundamental freedoms while the litigation continues. We are thrilled to see the court block Trumpβs executive orderβan action that was in explicit retaliation against federal workersβ unions exercising their First Amendment rights to challenge the administrationβs attacks on their members. This fight is far from over, but federal workers, the labor movement and our allies have notched an essential victory.β

New York Times headline reading: "Tuesday Is Expected to Be One of the Hottest in a String of Hot Days; This week is delivering the hottest temperatures of the year so far to much of the eastern United States."
Itβs hot outside βοΈπ‘οΈπ₯΅
Extreme heat is a threat to worker safety.
1 in 3 workers is regularly exposed to the outdoors as part of their job, especially in construction or on farms. Indoor jobs in places like warehouses can be dangerously hot, too.
We need to protect workers from extreme heat!
Why is Nike hiding from the garment workers who make their apparel for as little as $1 per hour?

Jobs with Justice stands with all working people fighting back against this violent regime. Huerta must be returned to his family, community, and union siblings.
