Everyone is making fun of these guys, and rightfully so, but these aren't the guys who signed up for ICE. That doesn't make them sympathetic or good, but they aren't by default enthusiastic fascists. We'll see how they act.

Mason & Dixon is the best Pynchon, though I have a place in my heart for Against the Day, which, time-and-theme-wise, hits all my sweet spots.

This whole thread is great but I think this nails it. Miller has to make it seem like the war has already started (which it has, but he means really hot and in earnest) so that there aren't any defections.
