The Ghost Sequences is one of the best books I read last year -- true horror, longing, trauma, my favorite kind of ghost stories: exploring what remains. Excited to read this one!

But he covered it up after it became a liability, so of course it doesn't mean anything!

He has country, or rather "country," aesthetics: nothing to do with the music or tradition, but the guns-hate-libs that people who don't really like music classify as country. It has nothing to do with sounds or heritage. It's akin to their Christ-less Christianity.
