Instead of using a traditional overhead configuration, I went with the XY capsule on my Zoom H6 Essential, placing it just above the cymbals at the front of the kit. It gave me a full, balanced capture—and best of all, I didn’t even need to bring my laptop.

Earlier this week, I shared part 1 of tracking drums for our upcoming EP. Today, I’m diving into one of the tracks—“False Idol, Hollow Crown”—and breaking down my overhead mic setup.

Did a little project the other week of removing all the wraps on these drums, giving them a light sand and then staining them all. Turned out super nice, can’t wait to play them during practice on Monday

Getting all my gear together for our next show! July 29th 🤘

We just wanted to give a huge thanks to everyone that has supported our music so far. We’ve noticed a lot of people that buy our stuff on Bandcamp go above and beyond and pay sometimes even double the prices we are asking for. It’s hugely appreciated!

Ashen Pall is no longer looking for a drummer! Our Rhythm guitarist who used to play drums (me) is now playing drums again. However, this does mean that we are now in search of a Vancouver-based rhythm guitarist. Must be able to play live and also collaborate remotely

Them: "What’s your favorite high-gain amp?"
Me: "Marshall Origin 50."
Them: "Dude, that’s not high gain."
Me: [cranks every knob, slams three boosts, summons dark forces] "It is now."
