The sculpture The Rape of Proserpina or Ratto di Proserpina by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. It depicts the abduction and assault of Proserpina, daughter of Jupiter and Ceres, by the underworld god Pluto. She tries to fight him off, but this scene takes place just moments before he drags her to the underworld and forces her to be his wife.

Under bluesky’s new #censorship rules, a historical piece like ‘The Rape of Proserpina’ by Bernini would in theory be banned for its depiction of assault. The lack of media literacy and art comprehension on their side is not only disheartening, but disgusting. #bskycensorship
