take the example of James or Gnonto getting possession in a decent position on the right. With Bogle, they know he is there - either overlapping towards the byline, or they can give it back to him & he runs inside, jinking, creating space for them on the outside. With Byram, they lose options ...

pushing up the field in a cohesive manner is important for defensive solidity. It limits the opposition's ability to get at you consistently - Byram might be more defensive than Bogle, but the ball will be coming at us more often with Byram in the team. Hope that I'm making sense 👍 #lufc

just having a more defensively minded player doesn't necessarily make the team more defensively solid. If you lose your offensive identity, & your ability to progress the ball or create openings or turn it over is diminished, often the entire defensive structure is imbalanced & vulnerable #lufc

prefer him to Schmidt but it's so far from what Bogle offers, is the problem. He can't attack even remotely similarly to Bogle. It means your entire offensive gameplan has to change. That's the concern. It's not a huge slight on Byram, per se. #lufc

I think Gnonto, James & Ramazani are competent options wide. I think Nmecha & Piroe are decent options up front. I do not believe #lufc should be starting Premier League games with Byram or Schmidt at RB (though I actually prefer Byram, of the two). It needs sorting. Bogle's attacking is crucial.

if you're going Leeds right now, I'd go Gudmundsson. Cheaper. And possibly on some set pieces as we haven't signed anyone else to take them. Likes to get forward seemingly. But if Bogle is out, it's a concern for the team structure unless we sign a sturdy backup swiftly 👍
