On that note, I’ve been learning a lot of swear words from playing games with Japanese subtitles, and when I tell my Japanese friends, they get impressed that I know such horrible language. It’s really funny.

I’ve noticed considerable progress in my Japanese and it’s made me very happy.
I’ve been able to watch cutscenes in Japanese games and be able to understand 80% of it, which is huge for me.
Japanese is considered one of the hardest languages for English speakers, so this makes me very happy :)

I've been putting Japanese dramas (mostly video games) on my 2nd monitor to train my brain not to treat Japanese as unintelligible noise, and it has worked so well that I can now hear how overacted and ridiculous the dialogue is.

I went to a Maid Cafe in Akihabara years ago which led me to volunteer as a butler in Sydney for the SMASH convention. Going to a Maid Cafe as an attendee or as a maid/butler is so much fun, absolutely nothing like it. I recommend everyone experience it at least once :)

I think I like it because it mirrors what I (and players in general) will experience in like, a really hard boss fight. You'll get hit, and maybe nearly die. So watching gameplay of someone doing it with ease doesn't capture that essence that you feel when you actually play for the first time.

I know no one cares, but could people uploading gameplay footage of boss fights and whatnot not be really good at the game? It's like watching a movie with an actor who a "Never Lose" contract. It makes it less exciting and interesting.

I have a predicament. I need (want) to choose a new Japanese name for when I volunteer as a butler again at SMASH. The problem is, my previous name Kaito (Ka-ee-toh 海斗) is so fucking cool that there is nothing better.

I've been having fortified Soy Milk for my B12, along with Nutritional yeast. But the most consistent source honestly is to take a supplement. I think it has to do with the pesticides killing the bacteria that produces B12 in modern farming, so it's often supplemented back into food anyway.
