The bill could disenfranchise millions of eligible voters by requiring documents like passports or birth certificates to register to vote and forcing voter roll purges. The Senate must reject it.

Nothing, and I mean nothing, sucks more than a producer who doesn’t realize they actually want to be a designer or writer, etc. When this happens it screws up feedback, communication, team morale, and leads to a lot of wasted time. Sucks so much.

I can think of four producers I’ve worked with in my career that I would go into oncoming traffic for if it meant getting them onto my projects. I trust them so completely. A good producer is worth their weight in gold. However…

calling and accepting an unprompted call on the phone should be a basic life skill!

everyone talks about the loneliness crisis and my very subjective theory is the decline of casual phone calls in lieu of texts and DMs has made it so much worse. physically hearing the voice of your friends regularly and casually matters!

i call friends out of the blue but if they are under the age of fifty now i send a text saying “hey calling you in a minute. not an emergency”. after a few times doing this they eventually realize “oh this is just what lis does” and eventually they start to call you unprompted and it’s wonderful

Don't come into my timeline with doomer comments. There are so many incredibly brave people out on the streets protesting and observing and demanding accountability—and in MN they're doing it in the freezing cold.

Don't tell me it's over or that there's no hope that someday we will see justice.

This year all I consented to were portfolio reviews for students. However, I’ll do the same for any international student or newcomer to dev outside of the US over Zoom. I will give you as much thought and consideration as I would in any other setting. Just please prioritize your safety.

I’m not trying to shame people who do, many of whom are friends I deeply respect and cheer on. Speaking opportunities are valuable to career growth and they shouldn’t feel pressured to limit that in any way… but I just can’t do it.

+1 to Hannah and I’ll say that last November I explained to a friend in Japan that I would no longer be speaking at US-based conferences until it’s safe for people to visit my country again.

Abolish ICE. Stop their funding. Call your reps until their ears bleed. Protest. Call for a general strike. Vote at the ballot box. Record everything, take them to court, and off to prison. And most of all, remember the dead. Thirty plus people perished in ICE’s hands over the last year.
