There might be opportunity for public comment and this also provides a chance to gather and discuss the state of bicycling in Toledo and advocacy needs with fellow bicyclists. Any more details will be posted if they become available.

The Toledo City Council Mobility, Sustainability & Beautification Committee is hosting a Bike Month Hearing this upcoming Wednesday, May 7th at 4pm. We don't know what is on the agenda for this hearing yet, but it would be great for Toledo's bicycling community to show up.

Comment on the 2026-2029 Transportation Improvement Program TMACOG will accept public review and comment through April 11 on the 2026-2029 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).

Public input alert for TMACOG's 2026-2029 TIP. “The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is a coordination and funding document developed by state and local governments and authorities in the TMACOG Transportation Planning Area.” The TIP includes two dozen projects with bike related projects.

The bike lanes roughly connect with the Sylvania River Trail at Harroun Park and provide an alternate option to the Silica Drive route when traveling either way between Downtown Sylvania and points south.

The bike lanes end short of Monroe Street and Convent Boulevard at each end and require taking the lane to continue on Main Street in either direction.

In more 2024 additions, the City of Sylvania reconstructed and installed bike lanes on Main Street between the bridge over Tenmile Creek and Convent Boulevard.

-Broadway Corridor Reconstruction - Road reconstruction including bike lanes.
-Martin Luther King Jr. Bridge - Bridge reconfiguration including multi-use path and Glass City Riverwalk connection.

In addition the the City of Toledo has several ongoing and future projects with bicycling infrastructure components.

-Whitmer Drive (West Alexis Road to Tremainsville Road) - Road reconstruction includes multi-use path. Connects to Whitmer High School and Tremainsville Road Bike Lanes. 1.00 lane miles.

-Wenz Road (Angola Road to Parkcliff Lane) - Road reclamation includes bike path. Connects to Angola Sidepath/Wenz Road Bike Lanes and near Swan Creek Metropark Preserve. 0.42 lane miles.

-Water Street (Cherry Street to Olive Street) - Road reconstruction includes multi-use path. Connects to Glass City Riverwalk (under construction)/existing Riverside Trail. 1.43 lane miles.

-South Byrne Road (South Detroit Avenue to Heatherdowns Boulevard) - Road resurfacing includes road diet and bike lanes. Connects to South Detroit Avenue Bike Lanes and close to the South Chessie Circle Trail. 3.64 lane miles.

The City of Toledo recently announced their 2025 Road Construction list. From that list 4 projects appear to include bicycling infrastructure components (improvement to many neighborhood residential roads will also improve conditions for bicycling).
