Cleveland Awarded $4 Million for 15 "Quick-Build" Bike Lanes Across City - Cleveland Scene Money from the NOACA grant will help support the city's Cleveland Moves project.

"Fifteen streets identified by planners (and survey takers) as high-priority are set to see “quick-build” infrastructure installed—most likely those plastic posts used to separate car from bike rider seen lately on Prospect and Huron downtown."

Signature by signature, residents try to stop cars from speeding down Cleveland's Buckeye Road Residents want to paint sections of Buckeye Road to keep drivers from treating the street as a speedway — and lower annual traffic deaths.

"It's all about helping people,” Shakir says. ”If this could be something that we start to see more [of] on east side neighborhoods, then it's great that we could have that sort of impact.”

Two projects aim to make biking safer for Cleveland students With new state funding, the city will take on a road redesign, while a local nonprofit will infuse bike lessons into gym classes.

“A lot of kids are biking and walking to school at CMSD schools as it is,” Jacob VanSickle said. “We really want to be able to make sure kids that are biking and walking to school have the skills and the knowledge needed to be able to do it safely.”
