a lot of people dismayed at this but all i see is people accurately realizing that both parties make no material difference on the lives of average americans. voters saw a man say “i am going to be a dictator” and treated it with the same seriousness of dems saying “we are going to fix healthcare”.

As long as prisons continue to exist, justice cannot.

I always find it frustrating when people try to launder radical ideas through a liberal lense to make it sound more palatable to libs. When I say I'm a prison abolitionist, I mean it. The entire concept of prisons and cops are antithetical to justice.

Unsurprisingly, electoralism will not grant the left victory no matter how popular it is. In fact, the system in place would be more likely to allow a deeply unpopular socialist than a very popular one with a lot of momentum because the first can be smothered and the second can overcome.

I'm so tired of seeing fellow queers constantly at each other's throats on here. Good faith criticism of bad takes (and especially unchecked racism/transphobia/etc) is fine and good, but the amount of hostility for things that don't actually matter all that much is just too much.

I can't stress this enough: Go outside and spend time with other queer people in your life. Join a queer support group, go to a drag show, do anything at all tbh. I'm not saying you shouldn't make your voice heard online, but that shouldn't be all that you do! We need each other more than ever rn.
