It’s been a little quiet here — I’ve been focused on building a big update for Flashes, and it’s finally ready.

You can now post up to 12 photos in one post, write longer descriptions with up to 900 characters, and enjoy a completely redesigned profile view that’s easier to navigate.

The image is an open spread of two pages of the yet to be released Starfinder Galaxy Guide breaking down the new Space Pirates, complete with an image of a Space Pirate as well as an image of a Free Hacker as well. There is too much text to fit in the Alt text requirements, but it starts with, "STRUCTURE - How the Free Captains are structured depends on who’s asking. When charging for protection, they’re a smooth-running organization with thousands of starships poised to attack if their fees aren’t paid. If law enforcement’s asking, Free Captains claim no formal hierarchy beyond an agreement not to attack each other. Most people only meet a Free Captain as part of a hostile boarding party, but recruiters skulk around busy ports of call, hunting for foolish volunteers or hardened mercenaries they might talk into joining up, but press-ganging isn’t unheard of. Conflicts between pirates are settled by duel, but disputes involving crews or fleets require a parlay at Broken Rock. Words, swords, and spells have all been used to solve disagreements. Gossip runs rampant through Broken Rock, filtering out to wandering crews. Anyone signed in the ledger is treated as family, and anyone with a black spot on their name is shunned. OPERATIONS - Free Captains run heists, protection rackets, and smuggling rings. Paying tithe to Broken Rock is expected of successful crews, and generous donations increase a pirate’s social standing. Tithes are used for a mutual aid fund and upgrading the community stronghold. A twitching arsenal of automated defense weapons called the Broadsides protects Broken Rock’s perimeter. Inside, a vibrant shantytown clusters around a tavern hall built from the preserved beams of ancient ships. Broken Rock’s wild nightlife, specialty merchants, and shrines to Besmara cater to pirates. Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.
