Orange, cream and autumn toned jumper featuring lace patterning on yoke with colourwork on yoke, body and sleeves. The jumper is hanging on a coat hanger against a rusty trailer. Pattern name is Ember by Yuko Shimizu, orange and multicoloured yarn is by Ripplescrafts in the Scottish Highlands, cream coloured yarn is superfine merino from Bellevue Park Wool in south eastern Australia.
Iβm double dipping into autumn themed #showmeyourknits, with a perfect autumn weight jumper in autumn tones. Pattern name is Ember but I knitted this during the bushfires of 2019/20, so I changed my project name to Precious Amber, after the main colour. More details in images.

I love scarves but what I love even more is a wide, shallow shawl and Iβll be knitting more of those. However, for #showmeyourknits scarf week, my skinny version of Time Trades will have to do.

Trying to make inroads on some summer knits, starting with a between seasons pullover, perfect for #showmeyourknits wip week, albeit just sneaking it in. Sleeve length is yet undecided. Yarn is merino/linen dyed by the talented @piratepurlyarns.bsky.social #knitsky π§Ά

I finished it more than a year ago but I only have a photo of the yoke. So I must remedy this! But in the meantime, this is mine, I used a merino/possum blend.

A pair of red and white baby bootees, trimmed to look like converse gym boots. One is standing up and the other is lying down, both on a charcoal coloured table.
I donβt have many baby knits for #showmeyourknits this week but I made these for a work colleague a few years ago.

Cardigan with grey and autumn toned striped body, with black upper sleeves and narrow grey and autumn toned stripes on lower sleeves.
I almost forgot stripes week for #showmeyourknits! My modified Jukebox Cardigan shamelessly copying the colour arrangement from the Funky Grandpa Cardigan.

My recently completed βEat the Richβ fits the bill perfectly for #showmeyourknits leftovers week. Iβve used Rennie Supersoft lambswool, left over from a granny square jumper I made last year. π§Ά

A large speech bubble with a stylized quotation mark reads: "Synthetic fibers take from a finite supply of virgin petroleum and return only fodder for the landfill. At the other end of the spectrum we have wool, which doesn't come from a well, barrel, tub, or spigot... In fact, all you really need is some land and water and sunshine." β Clara Parkes, in the foreword. Next to the attribution is a thumbnail image of the cover of the book, The True Cost of Wool, by Anna Hunter.
Author @longwayhomestead.bsky.social asked American wool advocate @claraparkes.bsky.social if she would write the foreword to THE TRUE COST OF WOOL many months ago. Then, as we rushed to get the book out because it is so relevant to our current conversation about where our goods come from...
