The RNoAF divested themselves of Bodø Air Base in 2021, now they're contemplating going back. Possibly the future selection of somewhere in the Nordics to put a NATO Combined Air Operations Centre (CAOC) also plays into the decision. www.nrk.no/nordland/la-...

To pull their weight in NATO and to deter and, if necessary, defeat Russian aggression with potentially minimal US support, Europeans need their own deep-sensing and deep-strike capabilities.

Deterrence is in the mind of the deterred. Since Hamas was planning and waiting for timing, they never were deterred, only inactive in service of their goals. I'm putting this a little differently than you did, but I think it's important when "deterrence" is so overused.
