You might need to rotate the filter a bit to see if it reduces the halo reflections in a certain orientation.

They are not that expensive so worth a try. Let us know how you get on.

I personally don't see halos whatever the brightness. Not sure if that is the filter or the black shroud I have.

Dumber than that - when orientated correctly it reduces the glare coming off my glasses from the screen or any lights in front of me. If you don't need glasses you shouldn't need the filter.

Whuuut! Do you get those style of boxes in Germany? They were something I would see on TV and in the Movies as a kid but tisn't something you see much in the UK. Mostly it's styrofoam boxes or little things that look like tupperware boxes and student houses build up cupboards full of them.
