I thought about joining in but I didn’t know where to find parking. Also, I had been awake since 4:00am and had already walked the march route twice (to get back to my car).

I drove by the Speedway protest on my way home from the downtown march/rally and couldn’t believe how many people were there. For some reason, I thought it would be smaller than the downtown event but I think there were probably just as many people. Very impressive! 😊

I drove by the Speedway protest on my way home from the downtown march/rally and was surprised by the number of participants as well as their enthusiastic engagement with passersby. Many new faces I haven’t seen before at various protests during the summer months. I hope they continue to be engaged.

I love how spontaneous chants of “Swear Her In” kept breaking out in the crowd during Tucson’s downtown No Kings march and rally. Everyone who was there should pick up the phone today and leave a message for Mike Johnson: 202-225-2777.

The guy has only spent a year in the NBA as Director of Player Development to support the Cav’s coaching staff. There’s a big difference between being a head coach and working one-on-one with players on skills/conditioning. He better not be getting paid more than any of the woman head coaches.

Kentucky is one of only a few states that doesn’t allow the governor to appoint a replacement if he retired now. It would take a few months to hold a special election and the winner would only serve until the end of 2026. There are several candidates running next November for his seat (he is not).

It should be an interesting year for U of Arizona fans. New head coach & entire coaching staff. Only one returning player from last year. 10 players (including the top 3 scorers) transferred out in the portal. 8 incoming players from the portal including a 6’7” center and 4 high school recruits. 😳

I’ve been a WNBA fan for almost 25 years and if teams fill all of the Head Coach vacancies with men, I will walk away and never look back.

Can the House Speaker refuse to swear in a duly elected member? (This matters right now.) Can the House Speaker block a new member’s oath? Mike Johnson’s delay for Adelita Grijalva tests the limits of House power and democratic norms.

This article has a good summary of what needs to happen in order for Adelita to be sworn in to office. Johnson is using the government shutdown as an excuse which is total BS because he didn’t need to adjourn the House and send members home.
