In the short term, you might think the mouthwash is a good idea - just like Curly thought his quick solutions were good.

In the long term, it only made things worse.

The mouthwash caused the crew to come undone.

Curly was the mouthwash.

If mouthwash with sugar content is poured into a wound, it can lead to infection and irritation.

Curly's attempts to remedy the metaphorical open wounds that jimmy made only caused the problem to become irritated.

Curly, I think, has a kind personality. 'Sweet' if you will. He doesn't like being the bad guy, especially to someone who is his long time friend.

Because of this his attempts to 'disinfect' the problems onboard the ship when it came to Anya and Jimmy were too 'sweet'

As a side note - I might make a more detailed post about this once my thoughts are more together.

Anya mentions the mouthwash can't be used as a disinfectant due to the sugar.

It feels metaphorical in the way Curly handles Anya's issues pre-crash.

Anyway,I just think it's a neat little ludonarrative detail.

I think Curly doesn't WANT to look back. Looking back, to him doesn't matter. He just wants to move forward, to crush the next ladder, to continue reaching the highest rung. Then he gets bored, feels the ladder breaking under him. He jumps ship to the next thing.

I played through #Mouthwashing tonight and realized something I hadn't seen in videos yet:

During Curly's broken ladder scene. The closer you get to the sunset, the white light, the end of it..you can't turn around. It stops you.
