It was meant to be a place of worship. But as Miri stepped over the threshold, she did not feel the welcome of any graceful God. Met with a vast abandoned space, except for an altar in the gloom.
What struck her most was the quiet. The hammering rain she'd escaped could not penetrate this silence.
