05.12.2025 21:42 β π 28 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0I also recently made a piece about "context collapse" on the internet, which this is a *fantastic* example of.
Have a great day!

Okay, let's take a step back here, haha.
A couple of years ago I made a YouTube video about YouTubers holding microphones like this, which this was a niche reference to for people who might have seen that video.

I'm taking Rachel Reeves discussing the budget whilst holding a DJI mic as a personal attack.
26.11.2025 14:50 β π 43 π 2 π¬ 5 π 1Going on Twitter these days is really funny because it's just endless apologia for the worst aspects of society.
"America might have terrible healthcare, but consider the upside: it's also home to extraordinary levels of inequality"
AfterEffects has always stuck out to me as the one which is hardest to replace.
14.11.2025 15:52 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Sounds like it was "enhanced with new value" to me.
14.11.2025 15:52 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0...which you can watch now on both Nebula and YouTube.

I couldn't escape adverts for testosterone replacement therapy.
So I did what any sane person would do.
I took four blood tests and interviewed a doctor, a scientist, and a senior investigator for the Advertising Standards Authority.
All in my latest video...
This year's attempt by Adobe to bump my Creative Cloud price by more than 10% year-on-year comes with the added fun of them subtly taking "All Apps" out of the tier name.
But, hey, I can't wait for that nebulous "new value".
Really appreciate you saying so! Sorry I didn't get round to interviewing you in the end. I've been working on this so inconsistently alongside other stuff that I'd have just been messing you around. Looking forward to comparing mΜΆaΜΆsΜΆcΜΆuΜΆlΜΆiΜΆnΜΆiΜΆtΜΆyΜΆ ΜΆsΜΆcΜΆoΜΆrΜΆeΜΆsΜΆ serum testosterone levels.
13.11.2025 13:35 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The terrifying thing here is that any Labour MPs think Wes Streeting is going to be any more popular than Starmer.
When the Tories change leadership, they're very good at presenting it as if the party has changed beyond all recognition.
I can't see Wes Streeting pulling that off.
...or whether you might choose to stick around for longer anyhow!
You can grab one of those free trials (while supporting my work!) at go.nebula.tv/tomnicholas
That being said, there is *so much* good stuff on Nebula right now that you should pop over and watch.
We've even just launched free trials!
Your challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to see how much of the ever-growing catalogues of Originals and exclusives you can get through...
Completely AI-free and devoid of slop, I think we've managed to build a platform which very much *isn't* designed to keep you swiping and scrolling, but wants you to find something you actually want to watch as fast as possible.
Which I guess is the ultimate side benefit of being ad free.
One of the simplest but most powerful aspects of @nebula.tv is that it consistently serves our videos to the people that want to watch them.
That sounds basic.
But it feels (as both a creator and viewer) that YouTube struggles to do that these days.
Even Patreon's trying to build a "home feed".
Some really lovely responses to this little piece I made on "context collapse" and why political debate is so frustrating now.
(Sorry for only just checking BlueSky for the first time in a million years!)
Twitter was always significantly less popular with women than men. Thereβs just big differences in the platforms people engage with based on gender. Maybe not great but difficult to do much about, and certainly not a new trend.
15.09.2025 12:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I recently came across a book in Oxfam that was the sheet music for how to play all the songs from the TV show Glee on a ukulele.
Which feels like such an artefact of a very specific cultural moment.
I try my best. Thanks James!

What a sentence.
We made a video about Wetherspoon and the crisis in British pubs.
And, in order to do so, went on a road trip from the UK's most-southerly spoons to its most northerly...
...only eating, drinking, and sleeping in Wetherspoon's pubs along the way.
Haha, we've not got that far yet...

It was a pleasure to have @tomnicholas.bsky.social as our first guest on this episode of @redbarrelspodcast.bsky.social!
Join us as we discuss the excellent Citizen Sleeper and gaming news ranging from the exciting to the baffling!
I'm gonna be knocking around this year's Games Transformed as the "whoever else we can think to invite" category of person that @chrisbratt.bsky.social mentions here.
Maybe wearing a costume? I dunno. I kinda just say yes to stuff.
But you should come along!
Thank you!
