As a Christian Socialist I hope to be able to rejoin my natural home at some point in the future, but I believe that new leadership is now needed for the Party to once again be trusted by the LGBT+ community. 2/2

Well, when I voted for the current Labour leadership in 2020 I didn't expect to quitting the party under it, certainly not after a landslide election win that I had worked so hard on, but I won't compromise on trans rights and it breaks my heart that it's a Labour government that has. 1/2

This Tuesday I am leading @scmbritain.bsky.social 's Trans Theology Group in a discussion on how the life and ministry of St James the Great can lead us to find hope in imperfection.

The group is for those students who identify as trans, non-binary or intersex or are Trans allies.

I am very quickly becoming obsessed by this neighborhood cat. She is so chaotic and her first concern is always "cuddles?'

New personal record alert! I managed to visit 2 cathedral's and an abbey in the space of 4 days.

(Gloucester Cathedral, Bath Abbey and Llandaff Cathedral for anyone interested)

And yes, by request of my Grandma, I now have a note on my phone where I am ranking the cathedrals and abbey...

Each day so far I have found myself both challenged and comforted by Rachel's reflections on God's expansive love and grace. If you, like me, find yourself in an active period of waiting due to ill-health or unemployment, it offers refreshing words of hope and anticipation. 2/2

Today is Trans* Day of Remembrance, when we remember how transgender and gender diverse people disproportionately suffer violence. The annual Trans Murder Project report lists 350 trans* individuals who have been killed in the last year. 94% of victims were women/feminine.

We will remember them 🏳️‍⚧️🕊️

Matt Drapper will joining us for our first Gathering on 15th October. Our topic for the week will be 'Finding God in Exclusion'.

After we have shared a (free) meal, Matt will share his reflections on the week's topic, before we break into groups to discuss his reflection.

Our theme this term is 'identity'. Across the 6 weeks we will look at the ways race, gender identity, dis/ability, class (and more) affect the ways we interact with faith and the ways we are treated by our faith communities.

Super excited to be starting this with @hedgehiggin.bsky.social and a wonderful team of volunteers!

We will be meeting at New Road Baptist Church, Oxford at 6pm on Sunday 6 times per term.
