Lent Series 2025: 'Though we are many...' Reconciliation: seeking unity in diversity. Most services taking place at St John the Baptist Glastonbury. 9th March- Prof Simon Keyes, professor of Reconciliation and peacebuilding, Uni of Winchester. 16th March - Ven Dr. Ann Gell, Archdeacon of Wells. - taking place at St Ben's 23rd March - Very Revd Toby Wright, Dean of Wells. 30th March - Revd preb Narinder Tegally, interfaith advisor and UKME officer, Bath & Wells. 6th April- Revd Jonathan Herbert, chaplian to gypsies and travellers, Dorset and Wiltshire. All are invited to this 5 week Lent course taking place on Sundays in Lent at 10am in Glastonbury. The service is followed by a small forum discussion with the preacher, then a simple lunch. The course is free, but a small donation is welcome for lunch, with all profits going to Christian Aid.

I am very touched to have this happen in the local paper this week.
As a priest, one is always passing through. But it has been an immense place to pass through. I will miss this town and the music scene.

Putting final touches to tomorrow's sermon. Reflecting on Isaiah and Blue Monday. Thinking that, no matter how bad things seem, God is with us, and his promises are true. When we pass through the raging waters he will be with us. ##CofEPeeps

The cutting of The Holy Thorn has been going on since the reign of King James I and continues to this day. The Thorn is cut by the eldest children of St John's school.
