it doesn't need to be a big match even, i'm excited to see photos from any match i've seen live, because i only know what i've seen from my seat.

something Neil Leifer said & i think about constantly working ringside, in regard to his Ali/Liston photo:

'you can only take the shots you can take'

for real

pro wrestling will always be a craft that leans toward video as 'default record', & that makes sense

but, here, in these 4 shots, you see a match you probably know from a perspective you couldn't even imagine from the video.

none of these 4 shots are 'exceptional photo', but all 4 are priceless

~88-92 were a rocky transition period for this type of music, radio didnt know how to handle early gangsta rap, once nirvana and green day showed up it was 'saved by the bell the new class'. i totally disagree with the OP that the popular music invalidates the good music of a time.

& as a child i was an Aladdin freak, Genesis Aladdin is what finally pushed me to get a Genesis. & Aladdin was pretty late in the Genesis' prime, which gave me access to cheap flea market & rental store games (SNES games, outside of sports titles didn't get cheap until the late 90s)

i agree, there's not a lot of 'placement in the time' of this movie, & the sweater cements the whole story firmly in the near-post-atomic age. the group photo does this too, but in a very mathy way.

i get what you're saying, that if you're not making it yours, why do it, i could also see that doing a mostly straight cover is like a tribute, &imo kinda how music should be &was, until The Recording Industry got big enough to push music (MUSIC!) away from that.

&also, guitar hero is a lot of fun.

in this instance, i agree (also, The Lemonheads, what a freak show) but i think type o negative covered day tripper because they liked the song or playing the song & wanted to share their version they'd probably been goofing around at practice for years.
