Not really. A few more have failed the closer to the coast in the UK so its possible some are picking up avian flu more easily from hunting seabird colonies.

Juvenile Pergrine Falcon. Just one bird fledged this year at my local location. Better than none however. Its been a poor year for pergrines hatching/fledging in the UK with failures at a number of well-established locations.

... seems there have been some arrests in Scotland (some after the event) so my usual enthusiasm for police pragmatism in Scotland was wrong on this occasion - I take it all back.

...and for a minute I thought we had some pragmatism in Scotland (which is often the case) but sadly not so on this occassion. I wonder what or who spurred them on to go arrest people AFTER the demo?

Thats a bit pedantic given I used the word 'certain'. I never said 'there have been no arrests' in Scotland. I think most people know what I mean when I use the word 'metropolitan'. If its not good enough for you then please educate us on what the correct word is.

Its a plausible thought when you consider that police in Northern Ireland and Scotland have taken a different and pragmatic approach. No such arrests in demo spots like Derry and Edinburgh last weekend - for example. Its bizarre how quickly the police have been to stamp down on ordinary protestors.

The idiotic labour element, who supported proscribing, are so tone deaf they'll still be basking in their 'oh so clever ruse' to employ legal trickery instead of simply using pre-existing laws to prosecute anyone who may have broken pre-existing laws.

Never will I vote for these incompetent, tone feaf clowns again.

I read they will now be measured on number of events, not quantity
If so, they will employ trickery to reduce the number of (low impact) events to hit the target of 50% reduction yet still emit 80% or more by quantity/volume. Or worse; cut out all low impact events whilst doubling pollution volume 🥵

The recent arrests of pensioners and peaceful protesters (via the legal trickery of proscribing an organistion) is truly sickening. I cant remember any UK governemnt that sank to such disgusting immoral depths.
