I was thinking of adding a filter so someone could force a start date (e.g. wedding date for a family blog, birthday for a personal blog, company founding date for a science company), but otherwise, leave it simple like this.

I’ve had an odd itch over the years to display the post’s date as sols (Martian days) since the site started. Martian timekeeping doesn’t have an actual calendar, but missions are calculated on sols since initiation.

More transparency on who knew what, when, and what they did about the knowledge is always the correct answer. This is true for religious & educational institutions. It’s also true for other groups that seem to have some corporate involvement in such crimes.

My heart breaks for the victims of the Texas flooding. So many out having a nice long holiday weekend, at camps, or just working. Flash flooding is very serious. “Flash” is real—it is shockingly fast.

When I was a Cub Scout, I had to evacuate a camp due to flash flooding. I didn’t appreciate the seriousness of the situation at the time. Pray the kids missing with today’s flooding make it.

Of all the many, many things of which this is one: I don't understand how this can be such a repeated line. "I'm heading to the grocery store" is incredibly normal to say. I don't think "department store" is a "strange" word but I virtually never hear people use it in normal conversation. "Grocery"?

Under Trump, the number of people with no criminal record arrested in the interior and detained by ICE has risen 1,145% in five months.

This new data comes as ICE reports detaining a record 56,397 people, despite being funded for just 41,500 beds.

Every ICE facilities is overcrowded right now.

Unless they hit the US Capitol Police, then they're special people and they'll get pardoned.

Soooo, yeah, it just feels like a really random instruction that goes against the general norms for what a liturgical day/season is, without seemingly any explanation or corroboration on the variance. Easter until your head hits the pillow.

Besides my head logic, the Universal Norms for the Roman Calendar state that Ordinary Time begins on the Monday following Pentecost, and there is no specific reference for Easter ending, specifically between EPII and Compline. The commentaries in the Calendarium Romanum likewise are mute on this.

This story exemplifies the reason people are outraged at ICE.

This guy did nothing wrong. He broke not a single law. He was a guard at a base that housed US troops. He came here legally through humanitarian parole. He had an asylum application pending. Yet the Trump admin had ICE grab him anyway.
