If you’re new to BlueSky: just block trolls and MAGA accounts. Don’t engage, just report and block. We all learned the hard way back on Twitter that there’s nothing to be gained by engaging, not even dunking. Just blockity block block. Starve them out.

If I had a nickel for every time Taylor sang β€œthe rest of the world was black and white, but we were in screaming colour” while wearing the lesbian surprise song dress, I'd have two nickels… which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice

If you venture out into Virginia, be sure to choose the one with the patio under the light of the giant neon hat. The ambiance of the Alexandria location cannot be beat.

"Why should rich people pay more" because fuck 'em
"So you are okay for paying more when you have money" I am not excluded from 'fuck 'em' when relevant

"I am not excluded from "fuck
"em' when relevant" is surprisingly powerful as both a statement and philosophy

"Your body, my choice" that's cute, bro. Is that your new slogan?

Uh-huh. Cool. and is this the new philosophy you live your life by?
Cool.

I have a distinct memory of dancing on a table to it after 1L fall exams in 2004 but it can’t be that everyone had that memory.

managing the feelings of strangers who don't like other people enforcing boundaries is not actually my problem (:

DEAR MISS MANNERS: A couple of years ago, my wife and I attended the wedding of two people who had been friends of ours for years. One year ago, the woman left the man for another man. We heard all about it from the man but heard nothing from the woman as we live in separate towns.
We received a Christmas package from the woman who made no reference to her infidelity -- an act that affected all who were friends of the pair.
I felt the need to thank her for the gift and card, but I didn't feel as if I should ignore the issue of her leaving her husband. In the end, I wrote a thank-you note and told her what I thought of the situation -- not in excoriating terms but in bluntly honest ones. Was this boorish?
GENTLE READER: Yes. Had you wished to register your disapproval you could have written her a dry letter of thanks; had you wished to register extreme disapproval, you could have returned the present. Miss Manners is afraid that β€œThanks, slut," is not a proper communication.

my favorite Miss Manners column (from 2002) was on my fridge for years and it finally gave up the ghost. found it to print it out again, and it seemed selfish not to share.

I brought these to a Christmas party that year so we could bond over experiencing how bad they were. Might have worked with a golden cookie but the chocolate cookie clashed with the candy fish filling.

This was the thread that remind me to come follow you over here. The replies are getting real silly. It’s like everyone wants it to be abusive for a man to be voluntarily doing housework that’s traditionally done by women!
