I remember something about warp working by changing mass, now I'm thinking about spaghettification by a black hole, if there's similar gravity changes that's kind of messed up to do to a coffin. I figured they'd launch those into a star or something.

I'm pretty sure that scene was in a torpedo bay, and the coffin looked like a photon torpedo case? I might be misremembering though.

It's a side question to this, but if the ship launches the coffin hard enough it'll be too far from the ship to be snagged by its gravity. Especially if the ship then leaves the area. I wonder how warp impacts the gravity pull of a vessel?

Yeah that's the wrong way to present it. At the very least phrase it up front as "if we go to the playground today, we don't have time for a walk. Would you like a walk and then playground, or just playground today?" The hard part is then following what the kid says.
