Having spent this whole year in the Old Testament, the horrible things that Godβs own chosen people did were never a hindrance to the unfolding of history according to His will. Human depravity hurt so many. His plan will prevail in the end.
07.08.2025 19:02 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Cultural Christianity without the heart change and a genuine devotion to seeking God through prayer and scripture has hurt the cause of Christ; although it is arrogant to believe we have any true power to thwart the will of God.

Weβll talk about that in about a year or so π€£

Who doesnβt love a bimonthly convention!?
07.08.2025 13:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah. It was not bad. It was intriguing, but feels more like setup than its own story. Itβll be interesting to look back once the season is complete.

Who doesnβt love the idea of Prixin, the Talaxian holiday of family. And who better to express the ceremonial blessing of familial connection than Tuvok. The scene is played as comedy, but he is THE family man on Voyager.
The tree and all its tangled roots clung to the rocky hillside, stubbornly slipping through the crevasses between the sand-gray rocks. Its weight leaned downslope, one branch hanging low, the other reaching toward the hilltop.
And when he saw it off the path, he ran over to it and knelt.

Yes, the hint at depth was missing.
07.08.2025 10:11 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Okay. I mean this earnestly. If Frontier just pokes fun at the false stereotypes of TOS, then how is Uhuraβs speech in any way springing from the nature of that fictional show (which stands in for TOS in a very serious, meaningful way in her speech)? Can Frontier do bothβplay up dumb camp & meaning?

βThat tree reallyβleft its mark on you,β Laila observed.
βOn the universe, Laila,β he said ambiguously. βAnd itβll last.β
22/22
βNothing will last,β he thought to himself. The stars through a shattered roof. The jug of water empty on the dirty floor. The plane ride to the United States. The touch of his motherβs cold shoulder as he tried to wake her after the bombs. The imagined painting just before he begins to sketch.

ββ¦made in the image of God,β declared a street preacher outside the College of the Arts building. βAnd like our Creator, we yearn to create something real, something lasting. But nothing we create will last; therefore, you mustβ¦β

βNo, I mean,β he started. βItβs a gift toβhave experienced it.β
Whatever I experienced, anyway, he thought. He reached out to touch his finger tips to the painted roots.
βSir,β a museum worker hissed. βPlease refrain from touching the art.β
He pulled his arm back and closed his eyes, smiling.
19/
βQuite a pretentious title,β Laila jabbed. βBut it sounds like the kinda painting some billionaire CEO would shell out millions to hang in his study orβbathroom.β
She smirked.
βMaybe,β Ayaan said. βItβs a giftβthatβs all I need it to beβnot a profit.β
βYouβreβgifting it to someone?β she asked.

Laila walked up to Ayaan with a glass of wine hanging between her fingers. The beauty of Schubertβs Piano Quintet lifting the spirits of everyone as they wandered from painting to painting.
βBearing the Cosmos,β she said, looking at the canvas behind him.
He frowned and turned to the painting.
17/
βHoly holy,β Ayaan whispered, his voice trembling. βThe Great I Am.β
An image of the cosmos filled his mind as completely as a wave crushing into the playful mote around a childβs sand castle.
He grabbed his paint tin, brush, and pad. His blood flowed. His muscles vibrated with the hot air.
