Having spent this whole year in the Old Testament, the horrible things that God’s own chosen people did were never a hindrance to the unfolding of history according to His will. Human depravity hurt so many. His plan will prevail in the end.

Cultural Christianity without the heart change and a genuine devotion to seeking God through prayer and scripture has hurt the cause of Christ; although it is arrogant to believe we have any true power to thwart the will of God.

Who doesn’t love the idea of Prixin, the Talaxian holiday of family. And who better to express the ceremonial blessing of familial connection than Tuvok. The scene is played as comedy, but he is THE family man on Voyager.

The tree and all its tangled roots clung to the rocky hillside, stubbornly slipping through the crevasses between the sand-gray rocks. Its weight leaned downslope, one branch hanging low, the other reaching toward the hilltop.

Okay. I mean this earnestly. If Frontier just pokes fun at the false stereotypes of TOS, then how is Uhura’s speech in any way springing from the nature of that fictional show (which stands in for TOS in a very serious, meaningful way in her speech)? Can Frontier do both—play up dumb camp & meaning?

Laila walked up to Ayaan with a glass of wine hanging between her fingers. The beauty of Schubert’s Piano Quintet lifting the spirits of everyone as they wandered from painting to painting.

“Bearing the Cosmos,” she said, looking at the canvas behind him.

He frowned and turned to the painting.

An image of the cosmos filled his mind as completely as a wave crushing into the playful mote around a child’s sand castle.

He grabbed his paint tin, brush, and pad. His blood flowed. His muscles vibrated with the hot air.
