Her PhD work explored how human impacts like disturbance, warming, and nutrient input affect non-native species spread in the subarctic. At ApexRMS, she’s now applying that skillset to projects in BC and helping advance tools like #SyncroSim and ST-Sim.

New small focus groups enabled participants to discuss project-specific applications, generating thoughtful ideas and strong discussion on wildfire risk assessment in diverse community and operational contexts.

Thank you to all participants in last month’s BurnP3+ wildfire modeling course in Kelowna, BC. Recent enhancements to SyncroSim and BurnP3+ supported a smoother workflow and improved ease of use.

Great to see collaboration across agencies and buzz around connecting science to decision-making. We're excited to see how this tool gets picked up across Ontario (and beyond)!

We've integrated this open-source framework into SyncroSim to make it easier to design transparent, scalable conservation workflows. At last week's workshop, we led a deep dive with folks from Ontario’s MNR and MECP, using the example of mapping climate refugia for cold-water species.

🧪🌎 Last week, ApexRMS team members hosted a fantastic workshop at Trent U exploring a new SyncroSim package that brings the power of prioritizr into systematic conservation planning.

We're piloting this project in the Brigalow Belt, one of Australia’s biodiversity hotspots. Together with local experts, we’re prototyping models that forecast ecosystem responses to land use and climate — giving decision-makers a clearer baseline for assessing restoration outcomes.

The goal? Build robust, transparent tools for measuring ecosystem change. Our team at ApexRMS is working with CSIRO scientists to turn conceptual ecological models into quantitative STSMs using #SyncroSim and the ST-Sim package.
