Absolutely vile that Jess Carter has been subjected to racist abuse. Thereβs no excuse this has to stop.
Racism has NO place in football or anywhere.

We shouldnβt mock politicians who show emotion it shows theyβre human. I remember choking up giving a speech after my parents were targeted. Iβm human too. Emotion in leadership isnβt weakness itβs empathy. We need more of it, not less. Just my opinion, of course.

It was great to meet Dan again today at the Freedom of Northumberland event. Iβm always struck by what a down-to-earth and genuine person he is. He is passionate about football, his family, and giving back to the community. Keep being yourself, Dan!

I attended a moving service at the county hall for Holocaust Memorial Day. We heard from a Ukrainian refugee who shared their recent experiences, as well as from Holocaust survivors. School children read poems, and Rabbi Lipsy gave a blessing. It was a truly powerful event. #HMD2025

Today is Holocaust memorial day and the theme this year is βA Better Fututreβ.
This year marks the 80th year of the liberation of Auschwitz which is an important part to remember.
Later today I will attend the County Hall service along with colleagues to remember #hmd2025

This afternoon Iβve been out speaking to residents in Cramlington alongside Labourβs fantastic Cramlington South East candidate Allan Hepple and the Northumberland Labour team.
Allanβs got a record of delivery for residents and would be a great addition to County Hall.

I welcome the governmentβs decision to remove the deadline for registering historic rights of way. The deadline set by the Conservative government would have resulted in the permanent loss of many historic paths, which would have been a significant loss in a county like ours. #Northumberland
