Weird that there are multiple occasions where an idiot US President crashes the economy. I wonder if there are similar examples of British PMs doing something similar (other than Brexit).

So thinking about examples of the President hitting the Fuck The Economy Button *before* a recession has started (vs just making one worse) are:

- Tariff of 1807
- Veto of the Renewal of Second Bank of the US
- Coinage Act of 1873

I think there are 2 lanes for president for 2028:

- Governors that are resisting Trump and Republicans in actual tangible ways

- outsiders that can be viewed as independent from the democratic brand (which is toxic)

There is no room for Senators who basically have fake jobs at this point
