Over the weekend my family and I traveled the Wanderlust 5 Island tour. I can't express how amazing it was to see just a very small portion of Guyana along the Essequibo River. What a beautiful country!

Find myself in Singapore. Just a few days ago I traveled from Calgary to Georgetown Guyana and spent 2 nights in bed then off to Singapore via Houston and San Francisco. My arse is now shaped like an airline seat. Singapore is amazing and so worth it tho. Missed the Venezuela flight cancels by hours

John Scalzi does it again (late to the party on this one. Read old man's war on a flight - then bought the remaining 4. Finished the next one and a half. Bought the rest. I have a 17 hour flight ahead of me and I feel ready.

So I have started Esperance by Adam Oyebanji - about a quarter through. So far, it's a fantastic book.

As a Canadian and an Albertan, I have been thinking about possible referendum ideas. Perhaps we should tie the travel budget for legislators and the Premier to the annual AISH benefit. Maybe we should petition to have the elected officials subject to press conferences while under a lie detector.

This will significantly impact the other sectors of the economy, like agriculture. These sectors are one of the key means to prevent the Dutch disease. This is an amazing country and people who deserve better.

So now there is a tarrif on Guyanese goods of 38%. The US seems to exclude tariffs on oil, bauxite, and gold. However , those exports went into the very complex calculus that was used... so while other Caricom counties only have to deal with 10%, Guyana is getting punished. 1/2
