I got described as a "senior" consultant the other day and I was immediately "no, no, we're not having any of that thank you!"

And I love that both Marvel and DC have had successful summer blockbusters with their core characters being the best versions of themselves. V welcome at the moment.

Really enjoyed Fantastic Four (after being a bit nervous!)

It barrels along, went a couple of places I wasn't expecting, thought the cast were all ace (Quinn was a *much* better Johnny than I thought he'd be, I liked what they did with him), and their world was great

London Trans Pride 2025: I've never seen so many cis people showing up for trans rights.

My dictation software processed "neurodiverse young people" as "protect the universe young people" and my brain immediately jumped to neurodiverse people being part of a Jenny Sparks/Elijah Snow "Century Baby" type protective mechanism for humanity and you know what, I'm ok with that idea

A few years back I was in Belfast, and a market trader was using a curtain from the bedroom Superman set I had as a kid as a tablecloth

It wasn't for sale but I persuaded him to sell it to me anyway

I'm a Marvel kid but ... the first American comic stories I ever read were UK Superman Annuals, the first superhero film I ever saw was the Donner/Reeve Superman, and my duvet and curtains were Superman

That Williams theme has echoed in my head since I was a kid. It still makes me shiver inside

It was both sillier and darker than I was expecting, pulled off a Silver Age vibe with style, had a stellar cast, used the Williams theme brilliantly, and fundamentally was about the importance of just being a decent, kind person standing up for what is right

Ok those first two episodes of Strange New Worlds were FAB

Episode 2 is 🤣🥰🥳, has a SUPERB cameo, and ticks geeky canon boxes without being TOO obvious about it, while also being lots of fun
