Pretty much, hell I remember when one of the big patch notes was 'hey we have more things that happen when you pick a trait for your sim!' - although I'd say that has more to do with ea's process than a lack of desire one a dev level.

it's probably way cheaper and easier to cater to the latter group since you can use what previous systems you have to build upon new ones, as opposed to tampering with the sims and world ai/ruleset with what little time and QA they have.

I feel like this problem comes down to the fact that we have two player types: people who want the game to be an actual simulation vs. people who want to use it to create and tell stories with ocs. I feel like we need a more high level setting of 'difficulty' and 'weirdness' to proper resolve but ⬇️

Yes! It would also be good if they made their premades have more aggressively bad relationships if the sims in the lore have bad relationships. I think it adds a bit more spice and more challenge for a happy ending
