Always trade-offs. It would also maximize the size of the set of annoying people it would make happy (as does mentioning "trade-offs").

Much of the top wealth is in private businesses, especially in Europe (but also in the US), and those have always been lightly taxed or exempt by the few European wealth taxes that existed in the past

Soccer is a globalist sport and it is hard to imagine an organization better equipped than FIFA in navigating corruption. Trump stands no chance.

DHS: Where was this lead pencil made?
ME: State of Washington, mines in South America, Malaya, and other places I don't even know about, by thousands of people who don't speak the same language, practice different religions, and might hate each other if they ever met
DHS: denied

This is based on club competitions not national teams. English teams and their league perform extremely well, that's why their national team not winning anything in a long time is viewed as such an oddity

Of course it's not. The failure is missing the blue sauce necessary to complete basic colors.

I'd speculate that a sufficiently deep crisis is what you need to start but not enough to maintain democratic support for years that you need for it to work. So, the opposition that somehow won't undo everything is necessary

Even Polish voters did not really fully do it - by 1991, the parliament had no stable coalition; by 1993 former communists were in power. But, the broad support for eventually joining the EU meant that everybody more or less stayed the general course
