In case you're wondering why 2 and 3 trains have been skipping Clark St. all day. The hotel above the station is falling apart.

Theyβll be working tonight, and Motzei Shabbos to complete the project more quickly.β
So we canβt park cars elsewhere when itβs the City trying to create bus boarding zones that keep kids visible.
But ripping up a bike lane that has improved safety for everyone on the block? Absolutely.
We should get rid of the guns. That'll make everywhere, including cities, more safe. Do you think Bernie Moreno agrees with that?
01.08.2025 23:06 β π 52 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I personally missed being in the middle of a mass shooting by hours on Monday when someone started spraying bullets through the lobby of my office building in Midtown. I don't plan to change a single thing about my view on NYC. Moreno's wetting his pants over one fight between two groups of people.
01.08.2025 23:05 β π 42 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yet again, my 3 year old is braver (and more rational) than a white adult male Senator. It should be shamefully embarrassing to say anything like this in public.

Again, its such a dark irony that so many ppl on the left are so thoroughly capitalism brained that they view literally *everything* as consumerism
Yes, you are still expected to pay your fare for this public service even as it deals w climate change bc your fares are part of keeping it functional
More OMNY news: @mta.info has FINALLY reactivated the trip and charge history portal on the OMNY site years after removing it due to privacy concerns.
Sorta. Instead of actually fixing anything they just removed the subway station/bus route info. But at least you can verify free transfers again.
And to Alex's credit, he was too....normal...for Manhattan Institute.
01.08.2025 19:20 β π 9 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Tweet from Zohran Mamdani: This is what our stormwater system is currently built for. Retweeting Alex Armlovich: NYC's stormwater sewer system is built to handle a 5-year storm at 1.75 inches per hour. The subway system's pumps can keep up with 1.5 inches per hour In 1970-1999, a 5-year storm was already 1.83 inches per hour By 2040 we're expecting >2 inches per hour 5-year storms
it was very encouraging to see Zohran retweeting a Niskanen guy on one of the actual core problems (literal sewer socialism!)
01.08.2025 12:13 β π 291 π 33 π¬ 2 π 4I've intentionally tried to avoid these inane comments because they just get me riled up for no reason. The system once again took on a ton of water, had a few momentary hiccups and was operating fine with an hour or two of the end of the rain. That's very good consider drain capacities!
01.08.2025 19:19 β π 55 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0The Nostrand Ave. stop is a bit of a ways off from the 2/5 stop too, but that's an easier gap to bridge. They're not adding an express stop to Ave H.

β¬οΈ NEW story in @thecity.nyc β¬οΈ www.thecity.nyc/2025/08/01/i...
It's the "repulsed" part of it that intrigues me. Even the normie Democrats seem to have perennial car brain in the Bronx.
01.08.2025 18:33 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The Bronx leg throws an extremely complicated and costly Amtrak-associated wrench into the plans, but it should at least be on the table for future expansion ideas. Bronx politicians are somehow very regressive on transit improvements. They're not even going along willingly with Penn Station Access
01.08.2025 18:32 β π 39 π 1 π¬ 3 π 0Bronx pols have a lot to answer for, but to this date there has not been a seriously-explored Bronx IBX connection that makes sense. @vanshnookenraggen.com had a connection idea that I liked better than what the MTA ever came up with. Itβll be pricey either way.

Today Hochul and the MTA confirmed that the planned end-to-end runtime of the IBX has been cut a full 10 min (down to 32min), and projected ridership is up 41k to 160k/day.
This is the power of grade separation and the All Faiths tunnel.
Kudos to the Gov and MTA!
