It’s great (derogatory) that you can work very hard to find out something incredibly important, and the main response you will get is a derisive “Gee, I’m shocked.”
Somebody has to ACTUALLY DO THIS WORK! You can’t pursue justice by going “Your honor: I mean, duh.”

We thought the large population of Texans in Aberdeen would help but… it didn’t. We were really lucky though and found a brilliant place for tapas at least.

colorful green and pink pastel graphic titled “Things That Will Stop the Spread of COVID” with a green check mark showing a person wearing an N95. Below, under “Things That Won’t” with red X marks: surgical masks, handwashing, elbow coughing, various potions, being young and healthy, potatoes in socks, healing crystals, staying 6 feet apart
Loving this comic on Covid safety by Gilly, a writer & illustrator from the PNW 😷
YES to N95 masks, no to potatoes in your socks

A bright yellow ham, cheese, bacon and pepper omelette with a sprinkling of diced yellow pepper and ham on top it with a toasted English muffin on a white plate and countertop. I just think it came out particularly pretty instead of being forced to give up and turn them into scrambled eggs… (even better I managed to time the toast so that was ready just as the omelette was!)
A tiny victory: a pretty omelette…

We Need to Talk About How We Talk About 'AI' | TechPolicy.Press
We share a responsibility to create and use empowering metaphors rather than misleading language, write Emily M. Bender and Nanna Inie.
"The media has largely let [tech companies] set the terms of the debate, right down to the terminology used in any discussion of these systems."
From @nannainie.bsky.social & me in @techpolicypress.bsky.social on how to spot and resist anthropomorphizing language about so-called "AI".

If you want more SQL Server content and less AI slop, please upvote some of my SQL Bits sessions.
And if you need a little bribery to persuade you, I'll bring chocolates to my session if I get selected to speak.
The good stuff, not the kind you get in the UK. 🇨🇭
