If we had a citizen held hostage by another country, weβd be looking into Special Ops extractions and prisoner trades. Howβs this different for someone ineptly/mistakenly sent to El Salvador?

Tell them to vote NO on Cloture and NO on CR. Vote is pushed to after 1:15ish for now. Situation is fluid.
The only public YES votes are Schumer and Fetterman. They need 7-8 total. KEEP CALLING.
Call retiring Senators too!
This sucks, as itβs in support of US folks deciding whether itβs safe to work in an embassy/area abroad, and pushing back against misinformation.

This was probably intended to trigger Democrats and be a distraction, but it just seems like what a dumb-ass would do.

I guess they figure itβs bargain time, since I canβt imagine having a lower opinion of their decision making right now
From www.senate.gov/about/powers...:
"The United States Constitution provides that the president "shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two-thirds of the Senators present concur" (Article II, section 2). [...]"
From en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_...
"The Paris Agreement is broadly popular among Americans. A national poll by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs conducted in June 2016 found that 71 percent of American adults favored U.S. participation in the Paris Agreement."
I did a really meager amount of research on this, but if itβs true that 70% of our populace favors participation in the Paris climate accord, could we possibly force that through the Senate? It appears like 2/3 of the Senate needs to favor treaty decisions to support the executive branch.
